Team OGG, fresh off a season opening victory against “Looking to Score,” came into the second game of the Reno Kickball League season looking to chalk up another “W” as they faced off against the “Kool Kids” on the sopping wet fields at the Reno Sports Complex. But Team OGG’s hopes of victory and a 2-0 start to the season were quickly dashed by the Kool Kids’ potent offense and their smothering defensive play. The final score, 17-4 in favor of the Kool Kids, says almost all there is to say about the rough evening experienced by Team OGG. At the plate, the Kool Kids were able to hit the gaps with stunning accuracy, and they patiently moved runners around the bases with strategic bunts by their female players. When it was their turn to kick, Team OGG couldn’t counter the offensive onslaught and managed to send a scant four runners across the plate. The game was called one inning early due to the Reno Kickball League’s “Mercy Rule.” Now 1-1, Team OGG faces off against D-Flat next Monday at the Reno Sports Complex.
