Anyway... I'm curious about the population density of the tribe(s), especially considering your word, "sustainability". If this is indeed a society based around hunting and gathering, I'm sure there is a wealth of knowledge on how many people could realistically live in a given space. That said, agriculture and industry developed due to fairly clear cut factors and I don't think our culture's reaction to the body paint would be the biggest hurdle for your "compelling [argument]".
